Vacancy Announcement Response Project Associate (Consultancy)

  1. Core Purpose of the position:

The Response Project Associate (RPA) is to support Humanitarian Coordinator by working with CBM partner organisations implementing humanitarian responses at all levels. RPA will support CBM partners‘ to implement the Covid-19 with focus on quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation, financial monitoring, technical support, documentation & reporting and ensuring the compliances.

  1. Key Responsibilities and deliverables

The RPA will be responsible for supporting the execution of the response project implementation in two districts (Sindhupalchowk and Kavre). Apart from that, s/he will support effective coordination, collaboration, information sharing on a project team and responsible to update the entire project implementation status at the field to the Humanitarian Coordinator.

The key objectives of this position are;

  • Support the implementation of the response activities, including necessary project management and tracking tools,
  • Support on draft and submit quality project progress reports; track and document progress and lessons learnt,
  • Support Humanitarian Coordinator and project  team for execution of response interventions (MHPSS, Advocacy and Inclusive Basic Need Assistance),
  • Maintain strong coordination and networking with district level external and internal stakeholders including  partners‘ staff,
  • Provide logistic support to the CBM team to implement the project,
  • Work closely with finance, Admin-HR and technical support team (Program Officers) for effective project implementation at the field.
  1. Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in disaster risk management, environmental science, social work, development studies, social science, or relevant discipline,
  • At least 2-3 years working experience; preferably in I/NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organizations. Preferably working experience on the  disaster management, emergency and disaster response related projects
  • Knowledge in current humanitarian and development affairs i.e. Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), Sphere Standard, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Sendai Framework and DRM Act, policies, guidelines, strategies of government of Nepal is preferred,
  • Experience on implementation of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), KOBO Tools and wash, protection, education, and health is preferred,
  • Practical experience and knowledge on working with the vulnerable People mainly the Elderly, Single Women, People with Disability (PWDs), in the context of emergencies is preferred,
  • Proven analytical and writing skills in the English language is a must
  • Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and must be flexible.,
  1. Terms & Conditions

The Consultancy agreement will be for a period of six month, effective upon signatures from both parties. First one month of observation period. This position will be reporting to the Humanitarian Coordinator and will be working Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The candidate experience working in humanitarian projects will be given an advantage.

 

  1. Consultancy Fees and Benefits
  • As this is a mid-level position the applicants are requested to submit the financial proposal on monthly rate inclusive of applicable taxes accordingly. The applicants are also responsible for the arrangements of his/her social security provisions.
  • CBM Nepal will provide accidental insurance of NPR 700,000 sum insured.
