Equal Access is an international not for profit (501c3), headquartered in San Francisco and working throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Equal Access creates customized communications strategies and outreach solutions in three key practice areas – Peacebuilding and Transforming Extremism, Championing Gender Equality and Empowering Women, and Governance and Civic Engagement. In Nepal, Equal Access serves as an implementing partner to FHI 360 on the USAID funded Civil Society:Mutual Accountability Project (CS:MAP) which aims to foster a more legitimate, accountable and resilient Nepali civil society, capable of advancing the public interest. Equal Access seeks applications from creative and competent candidates for the following CS:MAP position:

Media Outreach Manager – 1 (Based in Nepalgunj)

Specific Responsibilities: The Media Outreach Manager will provide implementation level leadership for CS:MAP activities, particularly focusing on the management and coordination of outreach activities at the sub-national level. S/he will function as the primary liaison between project activities in the designated districts and Kathmandu, and will also be responsible for related administration and operations functions in Nepalgunj. S/he will maintain close coordination with stakeholders in supporting quality project planning, implementation, and M&E.

Requirements: A Master’s degree in journalism or related discipline with seven years of social development experience in a mid to high level leadership role; familiarity with project workplans, M&E plans; familiarity with constitutional, policy and legal frameworks and good understanding of advocacy and how media campaigns are able to support advocacy efforts; experience in design and delivery of media training programs, plans, material and their evaluation; ‘good to excellent’ English language writing skills demonstrated through past reports, articles, published papers or any relevant document ; confidence in using ICT tools and applications; and strong internal and external communication and negotiation skills.
