We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, welcome responsibility, takes initiative and has first-class attention to detail. We are looking for an accountant with at least 3 years or more experience who is after something greater than a slow corporate career with a large accounting firm. You are likely to be working in one of the top 4 accounting firms and looking to move in-house with an exciting, global technology company.

The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency, organisational skills, pro-activity and an ability to enjoy a quick-paced and busy environment.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for the group
  • Timely completion of month end tasks: accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, maintenance of fixed asset register, intercompany transactions, journal postings etc
  • Oversee a small team of staff and provide ongoing support and backup to other members of the finance team
  • Performing variance analyses and providing interpretation
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecasting processes
  • Ongoing reconciliation of key general ledger accounts across a number of jurisdictions
  • Oversee bank reconciliations (environment of high volume of transactions in multiple currencies across numerous bank accounts and payment processors)
  • GST and VAT reconciliations
  • Ongoing liaison with external auditors across numerous jurisdictions, including preparation of audit materials/ schedules
  • Preparation of material for numerous ongoing regulatory audits
  • Resolving transaction escalations in payments division of business
  • Assistance with month end, quarterly and annual reporting for ASX
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Other related accounting tasks typically expected in such a role



  • Bachelor degree majoring in Accounting with impeccable grades
  • A minimum of 2 year experience in a large audit or accounting firm and/or previous experience working at or with companies with high volume processing and bank account or general ledger reconciliations requirements is a huge plus
  • Either a Chartered Accountant or similar qualification or close to completing a CA qualification
  • Highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Able to cope with tight deadlines and has a strong focus and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and numerical skills.

The position will report into the finance team and have the opportunity to work closely with the experienced Group CFO, Deputy CFO (focused on M&A and strategy and a trained lawyer with capital markets experience) and VP of Compliance (managing the group’s global compliance operations and former VP of Compliance for PayPal).

Based in Sydney the position will work closely with the senior management team and be part of a small but agile team operating globally across our business.
