The role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring laboratory standards and procedures in conjunction with Quality Standards and requirements.
The role will drive continuous improvement in the laboratory environment including managing, leading and developing the lab team members. The Lab Team Leader will provide support to Production operations and ensure Quality Control is maintained to the highest standard whilst participating in audits and risk management.
The role is also responsible to implement and maintain the Good Lab Practice; provide lab technical, relevant regulatory support and skill training to lab technicians and new staff.

Skills & Experience 

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

• Diploma or Degree qualifications in Microbiology / Food Science /related disciplines
• Experience within a leadership position
• Strong knowledge of GMP and HACCP standards and a working knowledge of customer standards
• Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to work cross functionally with the Laboratory Team and wider business
• The ability to work independently and be proactive in solving daily and strategic Quality issues
• Intermediate Excel skills. Sound knowledge in Microsoft applications.
