Job Description

Australia – Western Australia

BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Integrated Production and Remote Operations (IPRO) team manages the Iron Ore supply chain via forecasting, deviation management, controlling and inventory accounting across mine, rail and port operations. With an over-arching focus on safety, the IPRO team brings dedication, innovation and values to execute and improve productivity, safety and environmental impact. We drive to embrace new technologies such as automation to lead our industry globally. You will use your skills and experience in inventory accounting to investigate, propose and utilise innovation approaches, tools and technology to add real value to our supply chain. Your diversity of thought and experience will be embraced and you will be empowered to make a real difference by executing and improving critical supply chain processes from mine pit to port.

About the Opportunity:

As a leadership member of IPRO’s Production Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to integrate production systems, processes and equipment for the tracking of material movements, inventory of ore and waste and product conversion (for example, crushing, beneficiation, blending) though our supply chain. Tracking occurs from pit to port, and includes uncovered blasted ore inventory in the mine through to shipments to customers.

Reporting to the IPRO Superintendent Production Accounting and Reporting, you will apply your inventory accounting expertise and leadership skills to advise on best-for-business supply chain process execution and optimisation. You will promote and verify business compliance with best practice principles for inventory accounting, including measurement bias detection, monitoring and communication of measurement accuracy, consistent and transparent calculation methods, and procedures for inventory adjustments.

About You:

Proactive, credible and influential, you relate well with people, communicating confidently, building trust with key stakeholders and contributing to our positive team culture.

Your proven ability to implement and deliver analysis and improvement, combined with your business acumen, will enable you to prepare robust business cases for process and system improvement.

You will use your significant experience in process engineering and disciplined cost-focus to simplify and automate inventory accounting processes to increase productivity. Energetic and driven, you will apply your diversity of thought and proactive “can do” attitude to update legacy processes to maximise business value

You will apply your leadership skills and enjoyment of team work to collaborate with port, rail and mine site stakeholders for best-for-business inventory accounting outcomes across the supply chain. You will drive compliance across the business to meet inventory accounting performance requirements and standards.

You will use your 1SAP expertise to prepare monthly uploads to enable verifiable statements of inventory for financial valuation at critical stock points. You will be familiar with SAP Production Integration Master Data and its application. You will use your operational understanding of iron ore mining to advise on and oversee 1SAP material flow updates required to align system with on-ground operations.

You will use your experience with production systems to work with our Technology function to help deliver end-to-end system optimisation.

Supporting a diverse workforce:

BHP Billiton value and respect employees, offering an inclusive and diverse environment where you’ll experience:

  • Flexible work arrangements (focus on outcomes, not hours);
  • Dedicated leadership and female mentoring programs
  • 18 weeks paid parental leave

Location:
