Systems Sales Specialist

This is great opportunity for a Molecular Biologist with a passion for sales to join our team, supporting a VIC/TAS territory.  Application knowledge in Sequencing (NGS and Sanger/CE), Real Time PCR, Gene Expression and/or Genotyping will be highly regarded.   Also desirable is a knowledge in Flow Cytometry and Sample extraction techniques.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make regular customer calls per day and travel required to Tasmania accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities and work with the District Manager to develop sales potential.
  • Respond to enquiries and complaints that will reinforce the company’s position.
  • Maximise the sales of the targeted products.
  • Attend Trade Exhibitions to generate leads and prospects for the company’s products.
  • Conduct customer specific promotions to encourage sales growth and the development of a positive company position.
  • Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community activities.
  • Meet sales targets as set for specific promotional activities.
  • Identify Key Accounts in defined territory that will contribute significantly to the sales growth in the territory.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing to develop strategies that will develop the sales potential of the Key Accounts.
  • Provide reports to the entire sales team on the development of the Key Accounts.
  • Develop and execute technology seminars applicable to the account research focus.
  • Obtain and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity.

 

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Experience and Education

  • Educated to B.Sc. level or above in the Life Sciences
  • Strategic selling and Market Development ability.
  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Organisational and Time Management skills.
  • Professional presentation.
  • Self-management.

Desirable Skills

  • Masters or PhD educated
  • At least 5 years sales experience
  • Strategic and Tactical Market development skills
  • Presentation skills that can be utilised internally and in the marketplace.
  • Experience selling capital equipment
